Do you remember when your parents would repeatedly tell you, "Look both ways before you cross the road"? Or when they stressed to always say "please" and "thank you"? Now and days I see people crossing the road expecting everything to just stop for them, without giving the smallest gesture of appreciation. They should realize that their are more bad drivers than good. It's happening... people are losing their common sense and courtesy.
When I was younger my parents enforced the principal of common sense and manners, because you want to treat others they way you want to be treated, right? Or at least that was how it was. Common sense is embedded in everything. It's your "good sense or sound judgement in practical matters", being it's definition.
I've notice that more and more people don't seem to care what others do. Whether it's standing behind a car when someone is backing up, or when someone holds a door open for you but they keep their head down to avoid recognition.
Common sense could be related to politics too. For months now, America going on a downward slope has been the talk of the nation. We're suppose to use our common sense to pick between two individuals who will lead our nation to be strong again. On this, our common sense lies on not judging the candidates by their sex, but by their ideas and strategies. (I feel as though more are leading one way so history will be made). Another example of using common sense, as well as courtesy, could be when going into an interview. The way to win over your future boss is to swoon them with your manners and charisma. That's how most individuals get jobs.
Personally, I find that people don't think things through as well as they should. If you every get the chance, you should watch how other's react to each other. See if they have any common sense at all.
