Let the Colors Shine Through


A break in the norm

Traditions broken

Patterns erased

Different, unexpected, new, life


Up or down, left or right, they are no longer options

This a new beginning, a new time

Similarities are unfolded, and the miniscule flaw is seen

That is what I love


Sameness equals grayness

Sameness bores me

It makes me think of sand

So uniform, so flat, so there- always there


But if you look closely

Even the uniformity of the sand can hold a precious glimmer

If you look closely

You can see the faint shine of the pulverized rock


The blue of the waves and the sky

The sapphire of the grass

The marigold of the sun

Let the colors shine through


The wonderful magic of life

Don’t stay on the straight and narrow

Begin a new chapter of colors

And let them shine through
