For so many reasons, college is the start of a new chapter in your life. Most of the time, it's when you let go, leave home, and become independent. But, the start of college also means leaving your best friends. Let's remember, it's not goodbye, it's see you later. To my best friends, thank you for always being there for me, words can't describe how much you mean to me.
1. Leaving
It seems horrible at the time, you're fighting to hold back tears, and you can't talk because there's so much you want to say. It's hard not to make it too sappy, but it's inevitable. It's impossible to think about your life without them, but you'll have to make do.
2. Settling In
As you unpack and start adjusting to college life, you can't help but think about what it would be like if your bestie were there. The truth is, they're doing the same thing. It's hard without them, but things will get better soon.
3. Skype Dates
Nothing makes you happier than seeing their smiling face on your screen. You spend hours talking because you've just got so much to spill. You want to know everything (naturally) and won't stop until you've heard it all. Your roommates think you're weird, you spend so much time talking to them, and they give you weird looks when you laugh hysterically.
4. Constant Notifications
It's almost certain that you've got some sort of notification from them right now. They're either texting you something silly, tagging you in an Instagram photo, sharing something with you on Facebook, or overloading you with Snapchats. These notifications may be annoying, but they make you feel loved.
5. Marking Your Calendars
Finally, the dates are confirmed, and you know when you'll see each other again! Nothing makes you happier than knowing that you will be reunited. The excitement builds each day, and you anxiously fill your time together with as much as you can think of.
6. Being Reunited
When you see them walk in the room you scream with excitement. You can't remember the last time you were this happy. You're so eager to catch up, you're practically floating.
7. Making up for lost time
You've got so much to talk about you can hardly remember it all. It almost feels unreal to be there with them, but you're ready to take full advantage of your time together. Every moment is packed with fun, memories, and things you won't soon forget. It feels so good to have your bestie back!
