The TV series "The Office" does a beautiful job of portraying exactly what I'm feeling a lot of the time as I travel through the journey called college. The moments of happiness, sadness, and "Why is this happening to me?" are all part of the great experience.

1. The first day of classes, when it feels impossible to do this all day.

2. The morning after a party when you're wondering exactly who you sent those great Snapchats to.

3. The night of the party...

4. Exam week, the longest five days of our lives.

5. When a professor gives you an assignment to do over break and says it's due the day you get back.

6. Writing a paper the night before it's due. Generally for me it's 4 a.m. and I'm sipping on Diet Coke wondering where I went wrong.

7. When it feels like every assignment in the world has been assigned to you in one day.

8. When someone hits on all of your friends but you. Don't worry, Darryl has been there too.

9. That kid that thinks the due dates don't apply to them.

10. When your friend group doesn't tell you what's going on, but you're not giving up that easily.

11. Finding an amazing group of friends who are there for you no matter what; it may have been difficult at first, but now you can't imagine your life without them.

12. When you're out of groceries and the cafeteria is closed.

13. Walking out of Biology.

14. After you get the best email a student can receive: that class is canceled.

15. When you receive your bill for the semester and realize you're going to be in debt for the rest of your life.

16. After taking the last exam before winter break.

17. You may be broke, but you always make sure you're friends have an awesome birthday. Even if you just print out decoration.

18. Going home for the first time feeling like you know everything there is to know about everything.

19. That kid who says the most frustrating things and you have to keep your cool.

20. When someone asks what's wrong after a very stressful day.

21. Leaving your friends, whether it be for a couple weeks, summer, or graduation. Goodbyes are hard and appreciating the times you have while you have them is so important because these are some of the best days of our lives.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
