15 College Student Summer Bucket List

Happy Summer! Congratulations on completing another semester of college. I am sure you have already noticed that there is a huge difference between college and summer vacation. A couple of weeks ago you were experiencing a crazy, busy, yet typical end of the semester schedule. Now your days are anything but that. You probably went from hours and hours spent in the library to hours and hours spent laying on your couch. I'm not saying that spending the day in your bed watching Netflix isn't great, because it is. However, it can get boring. Summer can feel very long to any college student. Mainly because you were always doing something at college. It was very easy for you to walk down the hallway and go sit in your best friend's room for awhile when you were bored. I am sure you always looked forward to dinner every night with your closest friends. Now, you can't do that for almost three months. Here are some things you can do, to make your summer a little more exciting.

1. Go hiking with some of your closest friends from home

In college you have your "home" friends that you miss all year, and your "college" friends that you see everyday. Sometimes, you just need to get out of the house and spend some time with nature. Hiking is a great workout and it gives you some time to catch up with your friends. Plus, you can take a lot of photos together.

2. Wake up, put on some cute clothes, and go sit in a coffee shop alone

Sadly, not all of your friends will realistically be free everyday you want to make plans. Again, sometimes you just need to get out of the house and go and sit somewhere. Bring a journal or your laptop. You will feel a lot more relaxed after doing this.

3. Late night drives should become a weekly thing

They're fun and exciting. There really is nothing better than listening to some great music and just driving.

4. Go to the beach for a weekend with your friends

If you have time, why not? Nothing like laying out on the sand and eating some fresh fruit with your favorite people.

5. Lay under the stars

Put on some music and take some deep breaths and lay under the stars.

6. Buy a nice camera and film everything

It's hard to know if you'll miss something that's happening today, in the future. If you buy a nice camera that gives you something to figure out over the summer. Plus, you'll have a lot of great memories to look at.

7. Eat a lot of fresh fruit

You will feel so refreshed everyday if you do this.

8. Go to an amusement park

Go with your closest friends! It is so much fun to walk around an amusement park with your friends and scream your head off on some super fun roller coasters!

9. Have constant lunch and dinner dates with your friends

You probably already miss the daily meals with your friends. Just because you won't see them this summer does not mean you can't meet up with them and get lunch. Or try to get lunch with one of your old friends. It can be a great time to just sit down and catch up with them.

10. Pick a weekend to visit your friends from college

You already miss them now. I mean, think of how much you'll miss them in a month.

11. Go visit your family

They miss you a lot and it can be very nice to just spend the day with family. Make sure you never forget where you came from.

12. Go white water rafting with your friends

White water rafting will cause you guys to really work as a team in order to control your boat. Plus, it's fun and exciting especially when the water.

13. Tie dye some old T-shirts

I am sure your wardrobe could use some color!

14. Give yourself some relaxing mornings

When you're at school your mornings probably consist of waking up ten minutes before class, throwing on a sweatshirt, and walking to class. Now you have time to sleep in. Really wake up and sit down, drink some coffee, read a book, wash your face, and go do things to really start your day off.

15. Go to the gym more often

You now have time to focus on your body and probably have a lot more time to work out. Use that time!

I hope this helped you out, if you're home, bored! Enjoy summer, it really will fly by.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
