Dear Mom And Dad,
I know these last four years have probably been hard, college keeps me busy and it can be hard to keep in touch as often as I would like to. But as my college years come to an end, I want to thank you for everything you've done for me, not only the last four years, but my entire life up to this point.
Thank You For Your Encouragement
Not going to lie, college is hard. I had a pretty easy time with my academics in high school, barely having to study and still managing good grades. Fast forward to college, and that was no longer the case. There were many times I would study for hours on end and still barely manage a passing grade. Thank you for always being there to pick me back up and help me figure out better study methods and learning techniques.
Thank You For Being My Shoulder To Cry On
Over the years, there have been several occasions where I just wanted to give up. Things were getting too hard, and I didn't think I could handle it. Thank you for always being a phone call away to listen. Even if I couldn't drive home for the weekend to see you, then you were always there to listen to me vent and talk me through my problems without blaming me.
Thank You For Trusting Me
I can't imagine how it feels as a parent to see your child move off on their own for the first time. Thank you for raising me with good morals and high standards, so that I would know the right thing to do, even when you weren't there to tell me. I understand that it must have been hard seeing me living my life without you by my side, but thank you for giving me space to grow and learn on my own, and to learn from the inevitable mistakes I made along the way.
Thank You For Being My Hometown Connection
Even though I was thrilled to move away from home and into a bigger city, I will always miss the small town feeling. You always keep me updated on all the local drama, high school sports scores and everything going on back home. Being away from home is hard, but I love getting updates on everything.
Thank You For Always Believing In Me
One of the biggest things I struggle with is not feeling good enough. Whether in school, with friends or in relationships, you've always made sure that I know my worth. There have been so many times where I've felt like a failure and a disappointment to the both of you. But even when I'm at my worst, you still have the utmost faith in me. Thank you for believing in me, even when I couldn't believe in myself. Your confidence in me only drives me to better myself more and more everyday.
While I'm growing up and becoming more of my own person, I hope you never forget how much I love you both. Even though I'm all grown up, you will always be my parents and I will always be your little girl.
