Now that finals are coming to a close, every college student across the world is thanking their lucky stars that they finally get to go home for the summer. Students get to spend the next three months of their lives working and spending time with their friends and doing whatever they want without the attachment of school. There are a few things that college students need to remember when they go home about the life they are about to jump back in to. It is all different now after college so be prepared for a new way of life.
Your Parents Missed You When You Were At School
Yes, believe it or not your parents missed you while you were away at school. They continued to live in your full time home without you for months and months thinking about how you were doing and school, what you were doing, and who you were with. At the end of the day, they're your biggest supporters. So go easy on them when you go back home. They love you and would do anything that you asked of them. Remember, they are not used to seeing you all the time, so if they are a little over protective at first, let them.
Life Does Move On Without You
Life at home moves on without you. People continue on with their everyday lives. They go to work, they eat, sleep and do their own thing. This means that nothing is the same from when you were the last time you were home. Things are ever changing, life is ever changing, ever forward, especially at home.
Summer = Freedom
Of course, summer means freedom. Freedom from college classrooms, from college Professors, and the hours and hours of homework that college students endure during the months that they're at school. It means that students can do what they want when they want, they can hang out on the beach or sleep all day, depending on their personal preference.
You're Going To Miss Your Friends From School
You are used to seeing your best friends every single day for months on end. Now that you are back at home, you sadly do not have that luxury anymore. Instead, you can only call, Snapchat or text each other. Of course, there will be the occasional visit, but you will not be just a few minutes away from each other on other side of campus. That is the saddest part, your best friends are miles and miles away from each other living their own summer lives.
Of course, all college students are only back for three months, so all we have to withstand is three months of our changing lives before we can go back to the college lifestyle again. Of course, there is nothing better then a home cooked meal, but what is better than a home cooked meal with you're best friends, or maybe diner food at 3 a.m.?
