If you are currently, or ever have been a college student you have experienced being a part of a group project. I would say that some people enjoy them, but I would be lying because I have never heard of that ever being said.
During syllabus week, professors go over how the semester is going to go and the ones that require a big group project around finals week always say "I know everyone hates group projects, but once you enter the real work world you will have to work with others so this will be a good experience!" Don't they know that we could experience it once in college and get a good feel about how working with a group is supposed to go? They must not, since almost every teacher requires a group project....every semester.
Even if you have a great group of students- the group project still has potential to drive you crazy. We are all busy students. We have multiple classes, sometimes we are involved in RSO's, athletics, or have jobs. Since we have to factor all of that in, more often than not- our schedules are not all the same. Maybe half of your group can meet in the morning and the other half can only do night time. That makes it a little more complicated.
What about that one group member that sits back and watches everyone do their work for them? That group member is the worst, don't ever be that person. And if you are that person, it's probably smooth sailing until the rest of your group writes a bad evaluation of your work at the end.
I think it's safe to say that group projects are one of the biggest inconveniences during the semester. But once the group project is finished, at least we are able to say that we pushed through and finished one of the most painful parts of the semester.
