We’ve all hit this patch as college students. It’s late at night and you’re either cramming for that 8 a.m. midterm, or refuse to go to the cafeteria because they offer the same food each week. Here’s a look at the typical types of food, we as college students hoard in our dorm rooms.
1. Ramen noodles
This is a classic, but who can blame us? It’s cheap and keeps you full. There’s not more you can as for. Plus, with multiple flavoring packs to choose from, you won’t be tired of the pasta dish as easily.
2. Coffee
Honestly, college kids wouldn’t survive without this beautiful drink from the gods. This magical dark liquid gives bursts of energy and helps to pull those all-nighters that no one wants to go through. Drink on coffee lovers.
3. Pints of ice cream
There’s going to be moments where stress feels like consuming you. Thankfully this dairy treat will come to your aid and get you through it when no one else is around.
4. Popcorn
Every Netflix binge session needs a partner-in-crime. This buttery, salty classic pops in 60 seconds and will keep you company while watching your favorite episodes for hours on end.
5. Mac’n'cheese
It’s quick and so delicious! Who doesn’t love pasta and cheese? This perfect combination is something we look forward to after a long day of lectures and people who are hard to work with.
6. Poptarts
The portable, sugary breakfast is a tiny burst for the day. The endless amount of flavors and cool designs on the pastry keeps mornings fun, even when rushing out the door.
7. Granola bars
Instant protein is just the thing you need to keep going in the mid-afternoon lull. After that hour-long presentation, who doesn’t need a little pick-me-up?
8. Cookie dough
Entertain friends in the dorm with all sorts of cookies. With something this good, your friends may not even wait to put them in the oven. Time to stock up.
9. Jell-O shots
Most Friday nights, there’s at least one fridge filled with these tiny alcoholic beverages. They’re easy to make and one of the more common drinks found at parties.
10. Frozen Meals
Planning and cooking every meal is exhausting, especially in the life of a college student. Saving money and time with some frozen chicken nuggets or a big tub of lasagna isn’t such a bad idea.
With all of this food, students are set for the whole semester. I know I am, especially when I look at the big tub of coffee sitting across the room and think about all the times its saved me already.
