30 Days Of Thankfulness Is A Tradition That All Should Adopt

A few years ago, I participated in actress of "Once Upon A Time" Lana Parrilla's #LPs30DaysofGratitude. For each day in the month of November, I posted one thing I was grateful for. After the first year, I changed it to fit me. I created my own #30DaysofThankfulness.

For three years I posted on various social media accounts what I was grateful and thankful for throughout the month of November. Some days I slacked off a little because of classes and homework, but I always made sure the I posted for each day. This year I decided that rather than posting what I am grateful and thankful for, I was going to just write it down in a journal.

I think that others should adopt this tradition I have created for myself. Whether it is public on different social media platforms or it is in a private journal, I think everyone needs to take time to recognize what they are thankful and grateful for in life. I think it especially important now with all the unnecessary violence happening throughout the country and the world.

I am on my fourth year of taking the month of November to recognize what I am thankful for. I find that I am happier in this month because of it. November is a pretty stressful month when it comes to my school work because the semester is coming to a close.

I would eventually like to extend this tradition into my everyday life. I would like to focus on one thing I am thankful for every day. I want to turn my 30 days of thankfulness into 365 days of happiness and thankfulness.

I think that others should as well. If our society can focus on one thing that is good in their lives, maybe our society will grow into a better place.

Not only is this a tradition to follow because it is practical, but it is also fun. When I posted on social media each day, I made sure I had a picture to go with what I was thankful for because I posted on Instagram.

So now I challenge all readers everywhere, be thankful for something every day, and adopt and challenge yourself to think about what you're thankful for each day. You don't have to take my initial route of posting on social media, but think about what you're thankful for every day and don't take it for granted.
