To My Irreplaceable College Roommate, You Are Such A Blessing
Hannah Williamson

To my irreplaceable roomie,

Let me just say: I am so glad you decided to transfer to Ole Miss during the spring semester of our freshman year. I know we didn't start living together until fall of our sophomore year, but it was so nice to have a bestie of over five years attending the same university as me. It's even better now that we are roommates!

Yes, we've been good friends for the last four or five years, but living together has taken our friendship to an entirely different level. On the most basic level, if I wanted to tell you something or hear about your day, I had to call or Facetime you. Now? Your bedroom is right next to mine, so all I have to do is take a few steps, plop down on your bed, and tell you about my day. (Or I'll find you in the kitchen and we somehow end up sitting on the floor talking for an hour.)

But on a deeper level: you have made college so much better for me! Coming into college, I imagined living the cliche sorority girl life, but actually being here proved to me that wasn't the life I thought I wanted, which kind of left me in the dark trying to find my place and make new friends on campus. I know I eventually would've adjusted even if you didn't come to Ole Miss, but having someone I've known for years here with me just made me feel more comfortable. You probably didn't realize it, but you constantly reminded me that my worth was not found in my identity on campus but in my identity in Christ. I'm still not "head over heels" in love with college, but you have definitely changed my perspective to a more positive one (and you have obviously made my life more fun too!) Thank you!

I'm not going to take the time to type out all of the cliche thank you's like thank you for sharing your closet and always making sure our candy bowl is full, but trust me, there's a lot of them. You're quite the rock star, and I'm so blessed to have you as my roommate. I don't know how I'm going to live without seeing you during winter break (seriously, that's like almost seven whole weeks...)

Now do me a favor, don't leave me until we graduate and go back to living in different states again, which I don't even want to think about yet.

Love you forever sweet sister. You're the bestest!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
