Fall the season that is usually associated with going back to school or college, leaves and pumpkin spice lattes. If you are going back to school I can only assume you are headed for a skeleTON of work. (Yes, I am a fan of Undertale and all of its punny glory!) Just make sure you don’t break your backbone doing what needs to be done. Alright, I will stop trying to tickle your funny bone, because I am pretty sure you don’t find any of this to be humerous. Anyways, here are a few tips to ensure your school year semester/quarter runs smoothly.
- Getting a head-start on assignments early will just make life easier, especially on essays. If you begin to do this then you will realize that you have more time to do whatever that includes flirting with that attractive person you found in your biology class. They are so hot they probably de-nature your proteins.
- De-Stress yourself. This means taking a quick 5 minute break to drink water or whatever. But, time yourself. Set an alarm. Because that 5 minute break will turn into a 2 hour break. Instagram or FB anyone?
- Time management. Okay this one is tricky. You have a plethora of things that I am sure you have to get done: that paper that’s due tomorrow, then you want to go get food with your besties or just daze off into that one amazing new song that just caught your attention. But, this is literally the key to unlocking that extra time where you’re not calculating how long it will take you to do that essay until class starts at 9am. (I have literally seen people start their essay at 1am, the night before it is due. Don’t let this be you.)
- Make sure you have one or two good friends to confide in. This helps with the process of being encouraged to stay in school and get what you need to do done. The road that you decide to take is difficult regardless of what major you are in. You need to have a support group that will be down to talk to you about what troubles you.
- Have something that inspires you each and everyday. It can be a inspiring quote or a cause you believe in . You NEED that reaffirmation to confirm that what you are working towards is worth it.
These tips are just a few of the things you can do to survive the madness that is being in school. Maybe they can help your Mourn-day’s less mundane.
