6 College Clothes Packing Essentials, From Someone Who Has WAY Too Many Clothes

Packing for college is tough, especially if it's your first time. Trust me, I am an incoming college freshman and am currently staring at my closet. However, I am going breakdown the wardrobe essentials that I know I have to pack. I hope this helps you get started with packing your wardrobe for college. Really, whatever you end up wearing will be great as long as it makes you feel comfortable and confident!

1. Athletic clothes

@ktmusser

At my highschool, pretty much everyone dressed up for school in jeans, cute tops, and jewelry. However, from what I have heard, college is much more relaxed. Therefore, athletic clothes are a must for going to classes or just hanging out.

I recommend bringing a couple pairs of track shorts and leggings as you never know how cold it is inside the buildings. Also, bring some tank tops.

If you're going to a school where it's warm then you will be hot walking around outside this fall. Why not wear clothes that will make you feel more comfortable.

2. Graphic tees

@chloemarieee

This fairly new trend is perfect for college! Cute graphic tees can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion, so definitely bring some with you.

3. Jeans

@lojasschurhaus

A nice pair of jeans is perfect with a cute top for spending the weekend with your friends. Throw on a cute pair of heels, and you're all set! OR jeans even look perfect with a graphic tee for late fall when it starts getting cooler!

4. Dressier tops

@sorayabakhtiar

Bring a couple dressier tops for weekends out! With the jeans that are already packed, it will be a perfect, yet comfortable look!

5. Shoes

@flordemariafashion

Now I know shoes are not clothes, but I am joining them in this category because they are my favorite item and an important factor in packing up clothes for college! I personally am going be doing a shoe rotation for my dressier shoes, rotating them with the seasons.

However, here are the necessities you need to pack regardless of the season:

- Tennis shoes (for walking to classes)

- Slides (Birks work great!)

- Shower Shoes (cannot forget these)!

6. Jean Jacket

@lisa_mthembu

I love the jean jacket trend! They are literally perfect to throw over any outfit and with a couple necklaces can really change up your look. If you can't already tell, you cannot bring all of your clothes to college so having little differences in the clothes you re-wear will change up your look.

As Summer Ends
prexels.com

It's the last week of summer. I'm already back at school. I'm cringing at textbook prices, questioning if I really want to be taking the credits that I am and trying to figure out when, exactly, I'm going to sleep this semester. I'm starting a new chapter in my life. Things are changing, like they always are. I'm saying goodbye to yet another summer.

Finding God in Anti-God Classes

If you look closely enough, God is revealed in a new, powerful, beautiful, and magnificant way.

Many times in college we have events that make us question our faith. Growing up in a predominantly southern christian town at a public high school where the teachers were pretty open about their beliefs and most students were involved in a church, or at least claimed to be Christian, it was really hard to be faced with opposite views this first year at a public university. I have never had a reason to question my faith, until questions were posed to me that made me discover a new level of faith. When a professor who has their Ph.D. and seems to have worlds of knowledge, but they clearly disapprove of what you believe, it can rock your world. It seemed like all odds were put against me as three of my professors and classes were challenging what I believed about literally everything. The very foundation of who I am. This semester instead of feeling farther from God, I feel so much closer and more in awe because of these classes that were put in place to rattle me, but proved to rattle me into a deeper level of amazement with the world around me.

Lonesome for Paris

An experience I had in Paris was the closest thing I've had to an out-of-body experience, and I still wonder about it today.

Lonesome for Paris

Last summer, I took a week-long trip to Paris. A close friend from high school invited me to stay with her in the apartment she was renting for the summer. I spent my week touring, exploring, dining, and shopping—all the expected wonderful things. But there was one day that showed me what I had never understood about that clichéd magic of Paris.

Why Does It Hurt?

The question everyone asks is "Why?" Why did the chicken cross the road? Why did I buy that? But the most dangerous "why," the why that breaks us down and makes us overthink, is when we ask ourselves "why" after a breakup or heartache. Why me? Why now? Why did this happen? Why after all this time do I still feel this hurt? Why. Why. Why.
