All-nighters, public speaking, group projects, attendance is mandatory, pop quizzes, finals week...any of these words or phrases making you cringe yet?

College is a stressful place, and even though we spend most of our lives preparing for it, nothing can really prepare you for four years of constant stress and pressure.

Nothing is worse than those days on end when you have to schedule your entire day hour by hour. You might have class for five hours of the day, then you have a meeting for the club you accidentally joined, then you have to go to intermural practice, then you have to write that paper that was assigned weeks ago but now you only have today to do, then you have to somehow try to eat meals and maybe uphold a social life?

While all this is happening you are trying to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life. It's hard and frustrating and I get it.

If it were easy, everyone would do it. Am I right, or am I still emotionally unstable after that last Business Stats exam? Someone let me know.

I know if it were easy everyone would be doing it because when I'm not using my time to study, I'm searching for a way to ditch the stress of school and yet still be equally successful. Which is totally possible to be successful and not in school, a lot of my friends aren't in college but still feel equal amounts of stress. But college is different.

You could walk past a girl eating chicken nuggets in her car hysterically crying and not even bat an eye.

She needs that chicken nug. She needs that good cry, And you know to let her do it in peace.

You could spot a kid passed out in the back of a classroom or on a park bench in the quad and not even look twice. College kids rarely sleep, so when they are asleep you better let them be.

Basically what I'm trying to say, is that college can be a big ball of stress and it's not cut out for everyone and that's okay. But just know that you're not alone, we're all stressing out together in one way or another.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
