When beginning college, freshmen are not expected to know what they want to major in, and they have until their sophomore year to decide. Our choice of major may be influenced by many factors besides what we are interested in. Our choice may be influenced by our parents, teachers, and sometimes even the shows that we watch.
Many shows that we watch that have us so hooked that we sometimes wish to major in something just to be like our favorite television character. We may get our guidance by our mentors of the screen instead of someone from reality. Here is the inside look of what each major entails told by our favorite shows.
Business Management: "The Office"
We know there is no better way to describe how a business works better than Michael Scott and the Dunder Mifflin team.
Media and Communications: "30 Rock"
Making a television show is not an easy job when you take a look at the works behind the screen where all the magic is still in progress.
Pre-Medicine: "Grey's Anatomy"
Grey's Anatomy takes its viewers on the next steps when a doctor comes fresh out of medical school to practice medicine. I truly believe there is no better way to describe the medical world than through the eyes of Meredith Grey.
Law: "How To Get Away With Murder"
You have to be ruthless, stand your ground, and ask the right questions. Becoming a lawyer is no easy task. Annalise Keating is one powerful lawyer and the mentor every aspiring lawyer wants to learn from.
Political Science: "House of Cards"
We have known from the time our government was first formed that politics is a dirty game. The desire to be on top comes at a cost according to Francis Underwood and in the world of politics, every man fights for himself.
English: "The Carrie Diaries"
Besides the fashion aspect, Carrie Bradshaw has always dreamed of being a writer and having her own column. Her experiences have shaped her and have given her inspiration to write great pieces that many can relate to.
Music: "Empire"
The Lyon family together make great music, but at a cost? Making it big only happens to a few in the music industry.
Engineering: "The Big Bang Theory"
Five nerdy guys in one room can only lead to millions of ideas of new physics experiments to try out. Engineers to be will want to learn from Sheldon and the rest of the crew. Don't let their charm fool you.
Economics: "Shark Tank"
The Sharks did not just get lucky with their businesses becoming successful. Understanding the fundamentals of the economy and consumer preferences were the basic steps, and then came forming their monopolies in the business sector.
Dance: "Dance Moms"
No better way to explain the crazy world of dance better than Abby Lee and the junior elite competition team.
Biological Sciences: Rick and Morty

Overall, here's a thank you to the flat screen and Netflix who have offered us programs to guide us on what path to take before preparing for the big decision as to what major we want to take on in college.
