Princess Diaries is obviously a Disney classic. Anne Hathaway’s transformation from geek to Princess of Genovia overnight is something all girls envy. I already thought this was an amazing movie when I was little, but this speaks to me even more now that I'm a college student.
1. On Monday morning when you are still trying to recover from the weekend and all the sleep you’ve lost.
2. When you remember that you have two exams, three papers, and a presentation all due tomorrow that you have not even sort of prepared for. At least you know there are probably hundreds of other people in the same situation.
3. You are trying so hard to avoid eye contact with anyone who might want to talk to you because you only got three hours of sleep last night. Being a real human is just not an option.
4. You suddenly are late for absolutely everything and anything.
5. Seeing someone cute in your class and hoping they sit next to you.
6. Then they do and you have to try to keep it cool.
7. When a guy screws over your friend, and you have to pick up the pieces of her poor fragile heart.
8. When you think that being able to find a guy who will treat you like the queen you are is nearly impossible.
9. Then you finally think you might have found someone great.
10. No one even recognizes you on the weekends when you actually try because you look like a disaster the other days of the week
.
11. Trying to run around in heels when all of your friends decided that converse were more appropriate that night.
12. Realizing that you’re in control of your own
happiness and no matter what people say, it’s up to you whether you will let
things bring you down or not.
13. You've finally learned to really accept all your weird quirks. Some people won't understand you, but that's okay.
College really is a good place to find out who you are as a person and who you want to be! If Mia Thermopolis could learn to be a princess, you can do whatever you want.
If my secret grandmother who just happens to be the Queen of Genovia is out there, please call me ASAP.
