Summer break is a time for every college student to let loose. Traveling, vacations, beaches, exotic destinations. Young people across the country spend their much needed break off from school seeing the world, having fun, and hanging out with friends.
Or they are like me--the college student who can't wait to go home for those three months and do absolutely nothing. Going home is sometimes the best vacation. No responsibilities, no commitments. Just a time of getting away from the stress of school. Everyone home from college for the summer knows what it's like to finally get that rest and relaxation they deserve after being away at school.
After months of struggling through classes all year, you are finally free.
You try to neatly pack up all of your clothes in an organized fashion, but realize how hard it is.
Once you've finally packed your stuff away, it's time for that road trip home.
But then, you get stuck in traffic and you just want to be home.
When you are finally out of traffic and your house comes into sight, you almost burst into happy tears.
After saying hi to your family, you make sure to give your pet the biggest hug in the world.
You immediately collapse on your bed for the first time in what feels like years.
Then you realize how hungry you are.
But you have no food in your fridge.
So you take a much needed food shopping trip with your family and want to buy everything in sight.
Once you're home, you eat yourself into a food coma because you finally have real food instead of dining hall scraps.
That night, you realize how much you've missed your comfortable bed, so you sleep like a baby.
When you wake up the next morning and remember you don't have to go to class, you do a little dance.
And then proceed to spend your entire day in bed binge-watching that Netflix show you finally have time to catch up on.
For dinner you get another home cooked meal and feel like royalty.
The next day you consider going out and doing something productive, but instead, choose to vegetate in bed all day.
Then you repeat this cycle of laziness and avoiding responsibilities for months until it's finally time to go back to reality.
And when you're on your way back to school, you can't help but count down the days until you're home again.
