"College isn't meant to be easy, and nothing worth having comes easily as well, always remember that." - My dad.
I truthfully prepared myself for the worst when I came to college, but not even that was enough preparation for what I was signing myself up for. That doesn't mean I would ever give up. When my dad told me that quote that I started off the article with, I knew that he was right, and I was excited to work my butt off to achieve the higher education degree that I knew I was meant to obtain.
College has always been something that I knew I needed in my life to feel successful, and boy oh boy, have I have loved college.
Although at times I become stressed out and scared, there is absolutely no greater feeling that knowing you are succeeding in life by obtaining a college degree.
I am not saying that you can't be successful without having a college degree, but since I can't relate, I am only speaking for what I know firsthand.
So yes, sometimes it's going to be difficult, and some weeks you won't get any sleep, some weeks you'll cry multiple times because you're stressed out and crying sort of makes everything OK, and sometimes you'll want to drop out and become a stripper (you can act like you've never had this thought run through your head, but you know you have). But the truth is, a college degree is worth having, which means it's meant to be difficult.
Difficult obstacles make us stronger, make us more appreciative, and make us further understand how great it feels to succeed.
On my bad days, I always remember that college isn't meant to be easy and nothing worth having comes easily as well. I crave the chase, I am fueled by the difficulty, but I am always remembering that at 20 years old, I am doing something that so many people have neglected to do in life.
I am achieving a college degree, and I am more than proud of myself, my drive, and my determination.
So with all of that said, if you are like me and you are currently in college, graduate school, or doctoral school, or even if you have already graduated college, you can all relate to this publication.
Nothing worth having comes easy, so do what so many people haven't had the strength to do, do what people have told you that you wouldn't be able to do, keep on hustling and kicking college's ass.
Because college isn't meant to be easy.
