How many days till we go back?

College Is Also Home

Home is where the Wi-Fi connects, home-cooked meals are made, family is around, and the showers are always clean. Although all those things are nice, however, college students have made their college town their home. We love our home; it’s where we grew up, it’s where most of our memories are made, it’s where we made mistakes and learned from them. However, I believe you can have more than one home, and I know most college kids will agree because from August to May our college becomes our home.

College is where your adventure starts, where you are able to make decisions, and where you make your first steps to your future. College becomes your home. You are on your own even though mom and dad are just a call away. You make mistakes, but you don’t just learn from them; you grow from them. You learn how to budget your grocery money, you learn how to survive off coffee when sleep just isn’t enough, you learn to let things and people go, and you learn how to be your own person.

College is where you find your forever friends, friends that you don’t know how you made it this far without them. These friends will be there through your ups and downs, through the late nights and early mornings. They will be there for you to laugh and to cry. They will push you to your very best and won’t let you settle for anything less than you deserve.

College is where you make so many memories and find out who you are to your core. College becomes your home not because you stay there so long but because this is where your life is. College reminds you of home although may it not be ideal, and you know this is where you are meant to be.

Home is where the heart is, and your heart can be in two places at once.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
