Going back to school is always a mix of emotions ranging from the sadness of summer being over and having to leave your home friends and family, but is usually outweighed by the ecstatic feelings of being back with your college friends all day every day.

At least I know for myself, four months was a long enough break and I am ready to go back to school. One of the main reasons is getting to be with my friends again.

Here are five experiences that you will have when reuniting with your college friends, as told by "How I Met Your Mother."

1. The group chat completely rises from the ashes.

You know school is right around the corner when the group chat that was used once every so often during the break, completely rises from the ashes and is in full effect. Everyone is talking and planning the whole first week already. There’s an endless amount of “I can’t wait to be back!” and “Missed you guys!” texts being thrown into every conversation. The excitement and love reaches new highs just because the time has finally come to return to the University that we all love and adore.

2. The first thing you go to do is run into your friends' dorms.

As soon as you move into your room on campus and say goodbye to your parents, the first thing you go to do is walk to or let’s be honest, run into your friends' dorms like a S.W.A.T. team. Of course, hugs and catching up are in order and then you are ready to go back to being how you normally act together.

3. Catching up with each other on Move-in Day.

The one day that we are blessed to exist on campus without classes is the beloved Move-in Day. It's an awkward day for freshmen for sure, but don't worry; we all live through it. The day is a definite favorite for anyone else. All your friends come together and catch up on what happened over the summer, including any drama, wild nights and all the embarrassing stories that those Snapchats were not fully able to explain.

4. Making new plans together.

Now that you're all caught up on everyone’s different stories, you're able to start planning your own together. The conversation includes places that you need to eat when you get sick of the school food, and trust me that time will come soon, events you want to attend and debatably, if not the most exciting part being where you are going out to during syllabus week. There are plans and back-up plans for the important time of year, as the kick-start mustn’t be anything below awesome. However, everything is always awesome if you’re with your friends.

5. Having the whole year to look forward to together.

Quite possibly the best part of being reunited with your college friends is just realizing that you are going to spend a whole new, fun-filled, memory-making year together. Everything from the meals you share, stressful times in the library, random classes that you drag each other to at the gym, going out on the weekends and the events that are preparing you for your future career. You can always do these things by yourself, but sometimes being able to have your college friend there, too, just makes it that much better.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
