Honestly, is summer really that great without all this?

Like any other college student, I'm really excited for summer. I've been counting down the days until I can pack everything up again and head back home. However, having experienced two college summers already, I know damn well that AS SOON as I get home, I'm going to miss a lot about college. And while 8 a.m. classes and communal showers aren't on this list, here are 32 things every college girl will miss as soon as they're back home.

1. Independence.

College truly is a time of independence, and for many, that independence is gone as soon as you get home.

2. Living just a couple minutes away from their best friends.

When you're at college, you only have to walk five minutes max to get to your best friend. Over the summer, your best friend probably lives hours or states away.

3. Their FBW.

Yeah...we'll miss him a little more than we'd like to admit.

4. All their sorority sisters.

They won't be there for whatever you need all summer.

5. Especially their big.

Name someone a sorority girl loves more than her big.

6. And their little.

Maybe her little.

7. The organizations they're involved in.

Not only do these organizations keep us busy, but they typically bring us the best of friends.

8. Darties.

Now college girls are stuck in a small town that doesn't even know what a darty is.

9. Wine Wednesday.

Unless you want to get wine drunk with your mom, which will probably be pretty awkward and overall just not the best experience.

10. Thirsty Thursday.

Yeah, we'll miss this one the most.

11. Their roommate.

Not every roommate story is a horror story.

12. All of the friends they made in classes that they'll probably never see again.

Isn't this the WORST?

13. Not having to tell mom & dad where they are every minute of every day.

We really take this one for granted.

14. Always having someone who is down to go out with them, even if going out means just going to McDonald's for a milkshake.

College friends are just always down for whatever.

15. Relaxing in the Quad in a hammock.

I mean, I guess relaxing on a beach can be pretty nice too...

16. Having multiple closets to pick outfits from.

How are you supposed to have the best summer outfits out of just ONE closet?

17. ALWAYS having something to do.

Hometowns can get real boring real fast.

18. ALWAYS having food readily available.

Cooking is the worst, tbh.

19. Out-of-state friends.

Unless you're road triping you won't see them for three months, which honestly sucks.

20. College friends in general.

Can you tell one of the worst parts of summer is being away from your friends?

21. Not being judged for the lazy, weird shit they do.

During the school year you can just say #College and everything is okay.

22. Always having an excuse to look cute.

Sorority formal, banquets...all of that stuff isn't around in the summer.

23. Always having someone there to hold their hair back when they go too hard.

S/o to my girls.

24. And always having someone there to help them through their hangovers the next day!

Yeah, this is pretty great.

25. Weird traditions that go on at their university.

These just aren't excusable over the summer.

26. Tailgates.

At least when we get back it'll be closer!!

27. Actually, just everything about football season.

Football season is my favorite season.

28. Being surrounded by people your age.

There's no other time where you're constantly surrounded by people similar in age and going through similar situations.

29. Not seeing people from high school every five minutes.

Honestly, I don't miss them, and running into people I graduated with is always awkward.

30. Not having to drive everywhere.

At college, everything is within a ten-minute walk. Not at home.

31. Not having to constantly listen to your parents or grandparents nagging you.

This just gets old.

32. Being themselves.

Rip myself - I'll see you when I head back to campus in the fall.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
