Making friends in a new environment is hard enough as it is. Throw trying to get a college education in the mix and one doesn't know exactly what will happen. The real beauty in college is you finding your friendship soulmates. Here are a few stages of finding friendship in college.
1. The awkward first encounter.
You meet, you exchange your major information and then you simply try and fit into the situation.
2. Discovering similar interests and hobbies.
You both love Italian food, "House of Cards" and you both hate how much that one professor yawns? Instant friends for life.
3. It suddenly becomes acceptable to spend a ridiculous amount of time together.
"Do you want to come over, I'm about to take a nap." "Absolutely." "How about tomorrow, we sit in the same room for hours on different electronics and show each other funny stuff on the internet?" "My schedule is completely open for that." You have zero boundaries and each other's roommates probably low-key hate you.
4. You fight over the weirdest things.
"Absolutely not!" "Why?" "Because nobody at the Thanksgiving party is going to believe that we are Russian spies...no matter how amazing our accents are!"
5. You find a median of weirdness that you can't help but take note of.
Especially when it comes to interacting with other people...
6. You become super in sync with one another.
Nobody can compete with your secret handshake, inside jokes. Did I mention how well you finish each others sentences?
7. You tell each other everything.
And when I say everything, I mean everything...
8. You build each other up.
They always seem to know just what to say.
9. They become a pivotal part of your decision-making process in all parts of life.
If your friends don't like your significant other, then obviously there's a problem.
10. In the end, you know you have a hand-picked family that will have your back until the end.
These friendships are bound to last forever.
