When your parents send you off to college, they typically tell you "Study, study, study and build a future for yourself." Sure college is about studying and building a future for yourself, but it is also about experiencing a new lifestyle, even if a part of that lifestyle includes partying and doing whatever your heart desires... It's just that our parents never really know exactly what is happening at college. Here is a list of what your parents think you're doing college vs what you're actually doing.

1. The Thursday night escape

Ah, Thursday nights... the night where we let out the stress of the Sunday-Wednesday grind (At least the lucky ones without Friday classes) Normally our parents would assume we're staying in and sleeping the night off but we're actually out...

2. Food

Parents typically think the food in college is actually as it is advertised (Heavenly goodness and we can eat whatever want) But what they don't see is that much of this food is actually affordable at most times and tiny portions

3. Money

When you tell your parents you need money, they're probably thinking to themselves, "Aw, he ran out of money for food, here's some to go to target and buy what you need or what you need from the school store." But actually, you're budgeting how many beers or bottles you could buy from the liquor store for the weekend.

4. Spring semester

As Spring semester approaches, many of us think schools almost over and summer's around the corner, however, spring semester means darty season. But for your parents Spring semester actually means finals time and studying time.

5. Cleanliness

Unless you were a mess when you were a back home, typically your parents would assume that you and your roommate(s) maintain yourself and your rooms as you should. Keeping everything clean but in reality... you actually show up to class moat days in sweats with your hair up or if you're a guy you don't really care how you dress to class and many of us, let our facial hair go wild.

6. Classes

Sure going to class is extremely important for just about any college student, but for our parents, classes are a must, each and every single one must be attended with complete attention. But, for us, college students, sometimes just one class could be missed. Your parents think you're sitting up front in class and paying attention and whatnot, whereas...

After all, people have different opinions about college. Some take it easily and some take it very hard, some all they do is study and some all they do is party. There should be a balance of the two because after all you're there to get a job in the future, but nobody said partying ever hurt anyone.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
