College Checklists

Trust me when I say you do NOT need a staple remover, shovel, or ironing board. I mean really, an ironing board? When was the last time you ironed your clothes?

Walking across campus in anything other than sunshine.

Rain, wind, and snow you can't escape it. You have to go to class, well maybe you could skip it... just this once.

When finals roll around.

Three words: Study or die.

Being at a house party.

Gasping for fresh air in the middle of a crowded, sweaty basement just hoping and praying you don't get trampled (because we all know that floor is disgusting).

The "typical" freshman.

"What's your major?" "Where the parties at tonight?" Ugh.

When your professor says "This assignment can't be done overnight."

I don't know if you know my track record, but I'm kind of a pro at this. Thanks for the challenge.

Thinking about grad school?

Don't worry all your underclassmen friends will be stoked if you come back, and let's be real.... do you really want to be an "adult" yet?

She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
