College As Told By Drake
Pitchfork

What a time to be alive! Winter break is here so you made it out alive. Let's take a look back at this past semester and figure out what college is all about. I will share this experience through the powerful words of the famous poet, Drake.

Move In Day:

A wise Drake was once quoted saying,

"Started from the bottom now we're here,
Started from the bottom now the whole team here"
"Living at my mama's house we'd argue every month."

Sounds like he just needed to get away and have his own place, like a college dorm.

When a teacher assigns homework on Syllabus Day:

"Remember, mother******* never loved us"

When the cafeteria is having an off day:

"When a good thing goes bad, it's not the end of the world, just the end of a world, that you had with one..." lunch?

Showing up to your first college party:

"My excuse is that I'm young, and I'm only getting older so somebody shoulda told ya I'm on one."

Your first crush of the year:

"Sweatpants hair tied, chillin with no make up on, that's when you're the prettiest I hope you don't take it wrong."

When your friend does the whole study guide:

"Cause you da you da best, you da you da best."

Sucking up to your professor:

"I better find your love, I better find your heart."

When the professor gives you the extra point:

"Who would of know the path we chose would end up this scenic?"

Looking at your bank account halfway through the year:

"We go to dinner, you don't even look at me to pay."

Trying to get some cardio in at the gym:

"Last name Ever, first name Greatest."

When your mom sends you money for "groceries":

"They ain't make me this way, they found me like this."

When the test isn't at all like the study guide:

They might catch me slippin, and put in something different.

But you somehow pass the test:

"No help, that's all me, that's all me for real."

Praying to get through finals week:

"I just wanna be, I just wanna be successful."

Finally making it to Christmas Break with passing grades:

"Just Hold On We're Going Home!"

There is always a time in the semester when you have about three papers, four tests, five assignments and two projects due within the same time period. Isn't that just the best?

It's almost as if the professors all plot against you just to make college even more stressful than it already is. No matter how many people try to make you feel better, no one ever compares to your mom. Moms always know exactly what to say.
