With summer around the corner and the anticipation of finally getting some warm weather, James Beard Award winner for outstanding bar, Maisons Premiere, out in Williamsburg,Brooklyn, will give you a great kick off to your summer with fascinating cocktails and ambiance. Located on 298 Bedford Ave with their small hand painted sign that reads "Bar/Oysters" and weathered double doors that reveal nothing but candle light is the perfect place to be at any day of the week.

Maisons Premiere is the discrete beginning of the arrival of a French Quarter inspired speakeasy right in the heart of Brooklyn. Maisons premiere created an interior so profoundly gorgeous from its horseshoe shaped bar, green marble absinthe fountain, to prints of Napoleon near the bathrooms, and a convincingly bygone backyard that will earn you extra brownie points on date night or even among your peers for picking the place to be when you finally have a little time off from the crazy rat chase of a New Yorkers schedule.

Not only does Maisons Premiere offer superior cocktails on or off the cocktail list, they have an assortment of about thirty-three varieties of oysters on ice, that come out on the most delicate and dainty display, both appetizing and visually appealing to ones eye. Of course for the non-seafood eaters and the people who prefer their food dead and cooked, the bar offers an amazing menu list accompanied by prodigious service.

The bar also offers a $1 dollar oyster happy hour if your worried about your pockets (believe me I'm a college student too, and I know the struggle.) Among all the success that this establishment holds, from oysters to gnarly service, I believe the true secrete lies in it's intimacy, which heightens the mood of romance and transports you to a little village in France while realistically being in the center of one of New York's busiest boroughs. First dates might opt for seats at the raw bar in the back but honestly the place is so popular that three can definitely still feel like a crowd, that is of course until the few cocktails kick in.

With the end of the semester around the corner, free time will take the reins of your busy schedule, eliminating a bit of your academic life, and Maisons Premiere should be one more thing added to your TO-DO list this summer. Perhaps you'd like a nice refreshing cocktail during the day, or your new love interest has agreed to accompany you to dinner and you want to make a lasting impression where your date can turn over and whisper "This is place is a little utopian."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
