As October rolls in it brings along our favorite parts of fall. Trees changing color, pumpkin spice everything, the search for the perfect Halloween costume, candy, and of course some great football. Even though fall is great and all, it also brings midterms, hurricanes, and the impending threat of a long cold winter ahead. So, when you’re not feeling it for whatever reason, here are some Coach Eric Taylor (if you don’t recognize the name please go watch Friday Night Lights on Netflix and your life will be forever changed) quotes to motivate you and get you through the tough times. You’re welcome!
When you're too scared to try something new or you're in the midst of a new challenge:
"You can't beat yourself up because you're taking chances on things. But don't start giving up on what you set forth to do in the beginning. 'Cause that's gonna get you nowhere. I can promise you that."
Group projects, work, sports, friends, fam:
"Stick together. It all works out."
If you find yourself being a little too whiny:
"Suck it up. That's what being a (wo)man is."
No matter what is going on, remember to be attentive to those around you and remember that you're so loved:
"You listen to people that love you and you listen to people that you trust. Most of all, you listen to yourself."
When you start to doubt yourself:
"I'm a firm believer in you can do anything you put your mind to, and yourself, you, I believe you can do anything you put your mind to."
Sometimes things get tough, but you're tougher:
“Don't quit on me. Don't quit on yourself.”
If you need a reminder that you're exactly where you need to be:
“Right here, right now, God has placed you to do what you do best. Go all the way."
And of course:
"Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose."
If you feel yourself dragging this week, look back and remember these wise words from the greatest TV coach of all time. If he used them to turn the East Dillon Lions around, they'll definitely be able to motivate you to overcome any setback you face in the coming days.
XOXO
Sara
