Whether it's just wearing the basics, or you like to 'cake' your face, applying makeup is probably an important part of your day. Makeup can be used to correct, enhance, or hide features of your face, as well as be used as a form of art. The makeup industry has taken off since the start of the internet and Youtube, and beauty gurus and makeup artists have shown us ways to improve our makeup routines, and they also use and review products on the market.
Personally, I've been wearing makeup for about seven years, and the first five were a disaster. It took me years to find the perfect products and how to use them properly. Something I enjoy doing is finding drug store makeup products that work as well as those found at Sephora. Both me and my wallet are happier when I find something cheap and useful. I'm going to share with you seven cheap products, give you their price at Walmart, and share with you a comparable item at Sephora, along with its price.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer ($7.94)

Walmart.com
THIS CONCEALER IS LIFE-CHANGING. It is my latest purchase and I'm in love with the coverage and the consistency of the formula. It is super cheap for a good concealer and I 10/10 recommend.
Compare it to Sephora Collection Bright Future Gel Serum Concealer ($14)
Maybelline The Colossal Big Shot Mascara ($6.94)

Walmart.com
This is also one of my favorite latest purchases! If you know me with my mascaras, I always have to use three different types of mascara get the long-lash look that I want. This mascara is absolutely amazing. I only have to apply a few layers of it to get my optimal length and fullness (and I don't use an eyelash curler).
Compare it to Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara ($24)
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Water Gel Face Moisturizer ($16.17)

Walmart.com
Personally, I totally skip priming my face and instead I start my makeup routine with a moisturizer. Priming my skin does nothing for me and it costs more money for primer, and I believe that moisturizers work just as well as primers and they are better for your skin.
Compare it to Origins Original Skin Matte Moisturizer with Willowherb ($35) and Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer ($31)
Real Techniques Makeup Blender Sponge ($4.88)

Walmart.com
I rarely ever purchase the name brand Beauty Blender. They're too overpriced to do something that an off-brand makeup sponge can do: you just have to find the right shape for tough-to-reach-spots and to blend beautifully.
Compare it to BeautyBlender ($20)
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara ($6.24)

Walmart.com
This has been one of my must-have makeup items for years! This mascara pulls apart stubborn lashes that stick together when you try to optimize your look. I recommend this mascara for your bottom lashes as well!
Compare it to Benefit They're Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara ($24)
Docolor 15Pcs Professional Makeup Brushes Kit ($19.99)

Walmart.com
Now, I don't own this particular set, but any synthetic brushes do the trick for me! As soft as Sephora brushes are, brushes sold at Wal Mart or TJMaxx do the trick just as well, but will do your bank account less harm.
Compare it to Sephora Collection 10Pc Ready to Roll Brush Set ($70)
NYX Micro Brow Pencil ($9.97)

Walmart.com
If you've known me the past few years, you know my brows and I have had some HISTORY. One product that I enjoy using is a thin brow pencil so you can both create the outline and fill in. I like the NYX micro brow pencil because it has both the pencil and a brush on the other end to blend out the start of the brow.
Compare it to Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($24)
To conclude, the items purchased at Walmart came to a grand total of $72.13. If you take the total of the Sephora items, it comes to a total of $242. Just buy switching up seven of your makeup products, you save almost 170 dollars!
The bottom line is to shop smart for makeup. Sometimes red carpet-worthy makeup is only a trip to Walmart away.
