5 Reasons Why I'm Proud To Be A Tiger

There are many reasons to consider Clemson University the best place on earth. Being apart of this community for only a few short months I have already learned so much about who I am and who I want to be. I have the most amazing friends who continue to challenge me both physically and mentally. I have been provided the opportunity to gain a higher education in the best school in the state. And I am surrounded by people who show nothing but pride in this school. What more could I possibly ask for?

1. I'm proud to be a Tiger because of the academics.

Each day is a challenge and I could not be more content with that. Being at a school that keeps you on your toes should be a requirement. If you don't feel this way then you're at the wrong school. The professors here are incredible, it's hard not to get the information or help you need. Clemson has done nothing but promote success in my academics which encourages me to take it further in being successful in life.

2. I'm proud to be a Tiger because of the beauty this place holds.

Every corner you turn you are bound to be in awe with the beauty this place holds. There is never a dull moment here, I still am discovering new places both on and off the campus itself. There are approximately 1,400 acres of the campus, including a lake with a beach, as well as gardens and hiking trails. Can you say the same about your school? Probably not.

3. I'm proud to be a Tiger because of the extracurriculars.

There is plenty of things to get involved with outside of school from greek life, intramural and club sports, to various organizations and clubs. Students here are encouraged to get involved, and when you go to a school as amazing as this one, why wouldn't you! I have come across so many different, yet equally amazing people, and hope to only meet more and make friendships out of them as well.

4. I'm proud to be a Tiger because of our football team.

After all we are the new national champions! However that is not the only thing to be proud of. This team has proven their greatness. They give each and everyone of us hope not only on the field but off the field. So many things can be taken from their passion, their drive, their motivation and be given to the students here and applied to our daily lives. They make comebacks, they learn from their mistakes and allow the set backs to make them stronger. They inspire students as well as fans and that is so important for a team and student body. It truly brings all of us together, that's what makes Clemson not just a University, but a family.

5. Lastly, I'm proud to be a Tiger because of our pride.

Here at Clemson we take pride in everything. It's not just game days when the school spirit is shown, it's an everyday thing. Walking on campus you are bound to see plenty of orange shirts, or hear a "Go Tigers!" There is not a single place on this earth that could possibly have more pride than we do right here, and that is something that will always be so special to me.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
