Described on his website as “A 5-foot-nothing conservative whiz kid,” C.J. Pearson a 13-year-old teen out of Georgia is not the typical teenager. He is not consumed solely by high-school activities or sports, but instead he spends his time focused on politics, and voices his conservative opinions over his YouTube Channel, showing his disgrace for President Obama’s actions on multiple accounts.
Pearson, an outspoken conservative, was however raised by parents affiliated with the democratic party and therefore was not influenced by his family to hold conservative values; he came to that political decision on his own in the second grade, “It has always been my thing. I wanted to know who I supported and then from that point on, I just stayed on top of the news,” he said. The main person however that inspired him to hold conservative values was John McCain’s story from serving in the military and his tumultuous time as a prisoner of war. “I didn’t look at it like a race thing,” he said to USA Today reporters. “For me, it was more about who really cared about your country.”
A few years later and the teen is now a household name for those who have seen his viral videos. C.J. became inspired to make his first video after Rudy Giuliani made his statement about the president not loving America. “I wanted to show I agreed. This president does not love America,” C.J. said. Pearson rolled out of bed that morning to sit right in front of his computer’s camera and share his frustration from then on he became a star overnight when he published his first video asking President Obama, “Do you love America?” Since then he has appeared on different news channels and media outlets and his videos have continued to gain popularity among the conservative political crowd. Having over 96,000 likes on his Facebook page the teenager has become an icon among social networks, posting statuses like the following:
“Before posting my first video, I literally rolled out of bed and spoke directly to the camera about my firm belief that this President does indeed not love America. After the success of my first video, I decided I’d keep [posting] videos and keep speaking up about the issues that I felt were important. I wanted to be a voice for my generation.”
The reaction to C.J.’s first video did not go unnoticed. It went viral almost instantly, and now has over two million views. “You don’t love your nation, you just don’t,” C.J. said in the video, regarding President Obama. Statements similar to the following were a part of the conversation that appealed to a specific target audience, who are opposed to President Obama. His other videos on his YouTube channel have gained many views as well, his most recent video surrounding the 14-year-old Muslim student gained over another two million views. He did not come off passive in this most recent video, showing his disgust with the president after he invited a Muslim teen to the White House who was taken into custody by authorities from the fear that he brought a possible suitcase bomb to his school, according to Breitbart news. What sparked C.J.’s video was his anger towards the president for showing this teen more attention then the recent deaths that have occurred to police officers, and the killing of Kate Steinle by an illegal immigrant in San Francisco, CA.
He pointed out in his video that the president has not invited the families who have suffered these losses, but he will invite the Muslim student.
“I just think there were more deserving people that should have been invited to the White House. Not to knock down Ahmed, but the others simply are not being given the opportunity,” C.J. said.
Pearson accused the president of not “doing anything” in his video, regarding the tragedies and asked the president “What is this world you are living in?”
“How am I going to respect you when you don’t respect the brave men and women and innocent people who have lost their lives because of your incompetence? I’m sick and tired of it, and I think the American people are too,” said Pearson.
Shortly afterwards, he made headlines again when he said the President blocked him from his Twitter account. According to Pearson, the president blocked him from his account and he then took to Twitter and YouTube to share his frustration with this reaction from Obama. “It sucks that the handlers of the leader of the free world find it appropriate to block any American,” said C.J. on Twitter.
Media outlets like The Blaze and Fox News reported the incident on their sites. While President Obama denies blocking the teen, C.J. stands by his accusation regarding this incident.
These videos have sparked the media’s interest, where he has gained coverage on Fox News, The Washington Times, USA Today, as well as from commentators like Mark Levin and Laura Ingraham, and Red Alert Politics, a conservative leaning publication. However, C.J. didn’t stop with the videos, he started a conservative action group called the Young Georgians in Government where he currently resides as the Executive Director, according to his website. Through this group he has continued to use his voice to strive to implement his conservative values and act as a voice for his generation taking issues to the General Assembly in Georgia.
Unlike other teenagers C.J.’s age, he made it onto the conservative publication Red Alert Politics 30 under 30 section at 12 years old, where he answered this question: “Where would you like to see the conservative movement in 10 years – and how can it get there?
Pearson went on to say,
“In 10 years, I would like to see the conservative movement be a diverse, innovative movement consisting of individuals from all walks of life. I would like to see a movement that embraces all people and makes strides in communities we’ve never gone to before. For the conservative movement to remain relevant in the future, it is crucial that we grow the movement and come together to fight for what we believe in.”
Politicians have also shown their attention to Pearson, complimenting him on his outspoken conservative statements that can be seen on C.J.’s website where U.S. Senator Rand Paul praised the teen saying, “CJ Pearson is a remarkable young man who understands the importance of standing up for Liberty. He’s a breath of fresh air with a very bright future ahead.”
Former Congressman Allen West also commended C.J. saying, “Being a native Georgian, I sure am proud of this young fella. I don’t need to add anything other than saying, there is indeed hope, not just for our black community, but our America!”
When asked what he wants to do with the rest of his life, the 13 year old persists it will always be politics, and his continual pursuit to bring others into the political process.
