Some people know by now that Cincinnati, Ohio was in the headlines last Sunday. The reason why they were in headlines was due to a club shooting that happened on the East Side of Cincinnati. This shooting left confirmed one dead and many other victims with life-threatening injuries. The most interesting thing about this story is, it did make headlines as if it was anything close to the Orlando Shooting.
Each story confirmed that this was not a hate crime, they also confirmed that there was an altercation prior to the shooting happening which means the security was informed about the little altercation that happened near the disc jockey's table. So when the police got the call that there was a club shooting, they knew to respond to it as if it was like Orlando. Which means, they responded with a fast response, whereas if it was a regular shooting they would not have responded to it that fast. Although police officers are supposed to respond fast to these type of calls, but because shootings are so common in Cincinnati they don't respond to it with the same urgency.
For this story to hit news sites such as CNN and ABCnews... it's shocking! This kind of stuff happens all the time in Cincinnati, just two days ago there was a drive-by shooting, CNN did not report that story. When the writers saw "Club Shooting in Cincinnati", they decided to write about it as if it was like Orlando.
Don't get me wrong, the story is incredibly sad and the police are working tirelessly to find the other two suspects. With that being said, they did arrest two guys and they set a $1.7 Million Bond for them and charged them with murder, which is a step. I do send my condolences to the family who lost their loved one and I hope that stuff like this does not happen again.
