A Christmas Present From UF: Final Grades for Fall semester to Be Posted on Christmas Eve

#ItsGreatUF: Just in case you hadn't heard, on December 24th, final grades will be available on ISIS for the Fall semester of 2014. 

On this frosty night of 1 B.C., the Virgin Mary lay in a manger awaiting our dear Savior's birth. On this Holy night, we Christian folk will be celebrating the birthday of Jesus with family, friends and cookies. But fair warning my fellow Christian Gators, a good amount of us will shed a few tears in the light of our Christmas trees. Santa's cookies might get soggy from our weeping, and our cups of hot cocoa might be watered down by tears — and no, we are not crying because the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes the day he stole Christmas.

We are crying because our GPA shrunk 3 sizes after this past semester. 

I question why this day was chosen to release our grades. Maybe as a present to the genius biomedical engineers who earned their As with hours at Marston and naturally gifted brains. 

But did the University Registrar think of the other 95% of us? The wonderful students who "brag excessively about our school's academic prestige, yet grossly underutilize it." (#TFM)

I would say that we should avoid checking ISIS on this Holy Night and just continue waiting for Santa and watching classic Clay-mation movies. But I know that personally, curiosity will kill me. Literally... kill me.

Helpful hint and cautionary warning: CHECK YOUR GRADES IN A PRIVATE SPACE/ENCLOSED AREA OF YOUR DWELLING. Avoid main areas of travel in your house where your mother is likely to pass through. This decreases the potential risk of her finding out that your GPA is dropping faster than Santa down your chimney.

So my fellow Christina Gators, know that you're not alone in this. Many of us will be having one hundred mini-heart-attacks as rainbow wheel reveals to us our fates after a rough first semester. Three wise men once said, "Cs get degrees!"

By the way, Bright Futures requires you to maintain 2.75 GPA for Florida Medallion and a 3.0 GPA for Florida Academic Scholars.
