Okay I don't know about you, but I absolutely hate the feeling of not being chosen. whether it's for team projects in school, work, or in life. Even when our closest friends don't tell us immediately the latest but they tell others.. it can make you feel left out.

but there is absolutely no worse feeling than feeling you aren't chosen from the people you thought had you all along.

I'm 24 and I've learned the importance of choosing you at the end of the day. we so often forget to love and take care of ourselves that we are steady trying to satisfy others just so we won't let them down...

but have those same people done the same for you?

I've learned so many lessons overtime in my young adult life and the common denominator has always been not choosing myself.

constantly putting other's feelings and needs first rather than thinking about how you really feel.

don't conform to someone's feelings/actions just because you don't want yours to get hurt.

I will admit, for so long I would be so conscious of what I say to my friends and who I was interested in because I never wanted to let anyone down or get the feeling of "rejection"

but let me tell you something. I had to wake up.

life isn't about pleasing others, but about FIRST loving yourself. appreciating your worth, but most importantly recognizing who you are and what you stand for. Not everyone will understand your journey to self...

but you. and that's all that matters!

it doesn't matter who thinks what about you. always remember, you are the author of your life, only you know the truth!

it's a harsh reality but in the end, all we have is ourselves. actions speak louder than words, so if someone is proving to you that they aren't appreciating your needs, feelings, nor understanding where you're coming from, you aren't chosen, at least in their eyes.

but guess what? YOU GOT YOU!!!

one day someone will love you, appreciate you and you won't have to question your emotions behind it!
