As an education major you constantly get told "you aren't going to make a lot of money, why are you pursuing this career?" or "you're job is so easy." That is the farthest thing from this career. This career takes a lot of patience, time, and additional supports. Well, personally I will tell you the answer to that question. To me, money doesn't always mean happiness. It is the people around you, and doing things you love that make you happy. Yes, money is great and all and it is good to have a financially stable life at least that is what I want.

Therefore, my passion in this world is becoming a teacher. Being that role model for little minds who don't have a role model at home. Shaping children to be better people, learners, and most importantly shaping these children to make a difference in our world. I find it so empowering that I could be guiding and teaching the future generation. Being the one that children look up to and could possibly be the one that changes their outlook on life. Giving students the guidance, hope, and care that they need is truly rewarding.

At 18 years old, it is absolutely frightening choosing what career path you want to take. Thinking about what you will be doing for the rest of your life. It is intimidating and you wonder every step of your college career, am I choosing the right one? I still ask myself that and I am a Senior in college, getting ready to graduate very soon. Be confident in what you choose, make sure you are very interested in it. Because once you are passionate and confident about yourself and your decisions, everything else falls into place.

So, as you are sitting in college in your classes, think about it. Can you picture yourself pursuing this career? Do you love it? Whether, you are an Education, Business, Pre- physical therapy, Psychology, etc. take a step back and think about if you are truly passionate about what you are learning and that you could picture yourself doing this for the rest of your life. All of your hard work and dedication will pay off, just work hard and never give up. Because the most essential thing I have learned in this precious world is that you need to wake up everyday loving what you do and who you are. Show the world the power you have through your passion and love.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
