The color we love says a lot about us. Not many people generally know why they choose the color that becomes their favorite. Some just believe that they favor the color mainly because it seems attractive to them. This could be the case, but there may be more reasons as to why you chose that specific color. I, for example, have loved the color orange for almost 10 years. There are times when even I can’t explain why I've chosen as my favorite, but I always remind people that my color reflects me and so should you. Here are a few reasons why you might favor this specific color.
1. Sentimental value
To some people, a color may be appealing because of some form sentimental value behind it. There are times when we will choose these colors because they remind us of a special memory or even a special person. Latching on to these colors most times connects us with some form of memory, such as the day we met our best friend.

2. Attraction
Some of us choose a color simply because we like it and find it really attractive. When we pick a color due to attraction we know that there really isn’t a true explanation behind why we like it. We just like it purely for the fact that it looks good to us and on us.
3. How we look in it
Some people like specific colors due to how they look in it. While many of us are trying out new things and discovering ourselves as individuals, we soon find that one color we look great in. As a result, we choose this color and make it our favorite. There doesn’t have to be any sentimental value attached to this; it can just be as simple as looking good in it.

4. Societal influences
Some people choose a color because of an influence from their environment. Due to our environment, we tend to stray away from certain colors and are generally attracted to other colors. Because of a restriction on your choice of color, many people tend to favor some colors over others. For instance, in many societies black is thought to be associated with depression and mourning, so many choose not to pick it.
5. Cultural connotations
In some cultures, colors are assigned with different meanings. For instance, in China, red could be interpreted to be good luck or a sign of good fortune, whereas in another country, such as Germany, it might seem as a bad sign or it may have a bad history to it. The cultural connotations could be the reason why there are so many different responses to colors and why the impact that they have on the individual and the society itself vary.
