Oh Freshman Year,
To the late nights spent trying to learn 15 lectures in one night,
to the way too long of a wait at the Whatabuger drive through line at 3 am,
to getting over the idea of showering in the same bathroom as 20 other people,
to the endless amount of campus parking tickets,
to making new friends in the bathrooms of fraternity parties,
to becoming way too close to your roommate(s),
to getting to your 8 am classes on time,
to last minute finding things to wear to themed parties (jerseys, hawaiin shirts, and neon 80's aerobics attire),
to the 100+ degree weather you tolerate for tailgates/ the possibility of getting a heat stroke at a football game,
to the overly complicated way of finding a ride home from going out,
to wanting to steal the dogs you find at parties,
to the many facetimes calls to your best friends back home,
to the dreaded long drive home,
to becoming immune to all forms of caffeine, especially coffee,
to wondering why you're constantly sick,
to the countless numbers of all-nighters,
to contemplating going to class and checking syllabus' weighted grades,
to avoiding checking your bank account balance,
to the late night conversations with the uber drivers,
oh Freshman Year,
you've done me well.
The first year of college is like all the freedom and irresponsibility you've never imagined before. Making mistakes, failing once or twice, and figuring out the type of people you want to be around is all a part of learning process. Find your people, find you passion and ultimately, find yourself.
