Cheering for four-plus years has taught me some major life lessons, I may not have learned so early.

Many think cheering is dumb and stupid, but what they don't know is that its the most dangerous sport and thats just with the stunts. The girls you meet on the mat can either be your best friends for life or your worst enemy.

During my time on the mats and in stunts Ive learned a few things that I'm grateful for.

1. Always be happy

Cheerleaders may always seem happy but we aren't but you have to fake it till you make it.

2. Never act scared

If you didn't know, play it off as you forgot and if its bad act as it never happened and try to fix the problem.

3. Get back up

Falling from a stunt or just a fail in life always make sure you get back up and never make that mistake again.

4. You never know who is watching

Whether it's a judge or a little girl, everyone is always watching you and how you live life.

5. Always have a smile

Smiling people are always happier

6. Never let your teammates down

Friends or not, never let anyone down. It will give them a reason to shame you and fight against you in all the wrong ways.

7. Listen before you talk

You never know if what someone has to say is more important than what you want to say. Also this will give you time to decide if its needed to be said out loud.

8. Your family (cheer or not) will always have your back

Cheer or blood related family, everyone should support each other for their own uniqueness but still be able to come together when its needed.

9. Always keep your head up

Some will try and drag you down with them, don't let them get to you. You are strong and independent keep your head high and you bow higher.

10. Never let the reality change who you are

Many will try to change you and your ideas of cheer and everything you stand for, but don't let them get to you. What you believe in is what is right for you and no one else.

I never expected for me to love cheering so much and be able to fight for the sport as much as others do. Yet with everything I've learned and been through I am so proud to have been apart of such an amazing squad for so many years.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
