1. A nice stress relief candle.
Smells like lavender, chamomile, and wildflowers have often been thought to lower stress levels. Not only are candles a thoughtful gift, they give rooms a romantic gentle glow, and hopefully relaxing scent, that will be great when pulling an all-nighter for a test or big project.
2. A box of high-quality dark chocolate.
Dark chocolate has been shown to reduce stress levels. It will also give a small dose of caffeine to the person who eats it, making an increase in productivity possible.
3. Valentine's Day-themed mug.
Mugs can be found cheaply, in cute festive patterns. They're great for holding hot beverages, like coffee or tea, which students often consume as they study, but they can also double as handy pen and pencil holder. The best detail about it is that the person who uses the mug will think of you every time they use it.
4. A bottle of body wash/bubble bath.
A nice hot shower or bath is a great way to de-stress and unwind after a long hard day of school or studying. Body wash and/or bubble bath, and their delightful scent, will always be a must have for students. These can be purchased at Bath & Body Works under $20.
5. A coloring book.
These adult themed coloring books include pictures that are difficult to color. They come in all different designs, including inspirational quotes and swear words. The only rule is that you must not leave any white spots. This takes focus and time, and is a great way to refocus one's energy.
6. A gift card to her favorite coffee shop.
Coffee is always popular with students and a gift card will enable them to get what they want whenever they feel the need to get a little caffeine buzz.
7. A daily planner.
Daily planners can be very helpful to a student and can take a lot of stress off them by having a tangible representation of what they have to do each day. Planners, which can be purchased cheaply at Barnes & Noble, would be a very easy way to give a student this reassurance. It would also be a great place to keep phone numbers of professors or student support information. Better yet, it can never break or reset like a cell phone, so you won't lose your information.
8. A delicious surprise.
Depending on where this takes place it may hurt your $20 limit. However, college students are busy and have very little time to cook, or are too tired to go out, and this Valentine's Day you should consider having something delivered to them. Consider their favorite restaurant. Do they deliver? You may be surprised at how many fast food chains actually deliver food when a sale is made with a credit card. I guarantee you, you'll be the favorite of the student you have in mind. You will fill their stomach and their minds, and let them keep their the cash in their wallet.
9. A goddess box.
A goddess box is a simple gift which you can make changes to with relative ease. You will need a shoe box, pretty wrapping paper, and some artistic, stationery paper. Simply cover the shoe box in wrapping paper, make sure not to leave any part of the shoe box exposed. Then, take the pretty stationery, come up with some of the best qualities about the individual you wish to give the gift to, and write them down. This can be simple things like ”you're pretty,” “you got this,” “no pressure,” “relax,” “you are strong,” and of course “we love you.”
10. A gift card to a bookstore.
This is always a nice gift for students because they will undoubtedly need something there: a book required for a class, a planner so they don't forget anything they have coming up, or perhaps a journal so they can have a safe place to vent their frustrations about school and their daily life.
