To help move in the right direction changing your lifestyle, changing your diet can be one of the harder things to do. Think of it as something you do gradually and not at one exact moment- maybe add grilled chicken instead of fried- it's not something you rush to do. Once you change your habits from unhealthy eating habits it will become second nature and easier to make those choices.

  • Meal prepping can be a lifesaver. Making your meals for dinner or even lunch on Sundays or Mondays for the rest of the week can help you stay on track with not deviating from eating right and make sure you eat the correct portion and meals.
  • Make the changes in moderation and not drastically. When changing your diet it is essential that you change in moderation and not tell yourself you can no longer have those unhealthy foods ever again. It's super important to replace those unhealthy foods with a healthy option; that way you aren't losing that factor, just gaining something better from it.
  • Simplify. Don't necessarily count your calories, think of a diet as portion sizes: your meats you get a cup of, your dressings you get 2 teaspoons of, and so forth. Make sure to add color to your diet and it's not all freezer and processed foods.
  • Labels do matter. It’s not all that matters, but it's important to know what is going into your body. Whether it's a large amount of sugar or sodium, it's on there and foods with stuff of that nature are important to avoid. Processed foods are more likely to hide things like that than fruits, veggies and meats.
  • Noticing the feeling you have after eating. Knowing how you feel will make you cherish healthier foods more. The healthier you eat, the better you feel, the more energized you will be. After junk food you always want to lay down and take a nap or constantly feel bloated, making your body feel sluggish and overweight, in a sense. Recognizing these feelings will make you want to change and make it easier to change.
  • Water should be your best friend. Water is your friend. Water does us so much justice, it helps cleanse our bodies of toxins and waste. The lack of water-dehydration- is something that is very common among our generation due to the lack of taste or they just don't like water. Dehydration can cause low energy, headaches, tiredness. Staying hydrated will help you lean towards healthier eating choices as well.

Eat right, feel right, look great. It's not something that happens over night, but it is something that can happen. You have to want it and want to make a change. It's the only one you get, so eat right exercise and feel great. It's a simple task and everyone knows what to do, it's just taking the first step. You have nothing to lose, just try it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
