Change. A simple six letter word that has such a big impact on our lives. It happens when you least expect it. One day things are normal and going along just like it always does, but then the next day things are different. Change comes in many different forms. It could be something little like changing your hair style or something big like moving across the country or changing your outlook on life. Change is all around us whether we like it or not, so we need to learn how to embrace it.
All change is hard at first.
When we first experience change it is hard on us. It is taking something we have become comfortable and familiar with and turning it upside down. Usually we do not want to admit that change is happening. We want to block it out of our life and pretend like it does not exist. Change is hard because it is asking us to step out of our comfort zone and experience something new. We don’t know what the outcome will be, but we have to give this change a chance regardless. No matter how hard we fight change, it does not go away. So we put on that brave face and push on.
Messy in the middle.
Now that this change has been around for a while you start to get comfortable with it. This is where it becomes messy because you don’t want to admit to yourself that you actually like this change. You are torn between liking it and hating it. It starts to feel like if you give into this change and embrace it, you are letting go of the past. You are afraid to let that past go just yet. You want to keep holding on to it for as long as you can. Eventually, you will start to realize this change is better for you and embrace it.
And gorgeous at the end.
In the end though, change is not that bad. It always works out for the better. We gain new experiences and lessons from it. Once we embrace change, we start to be comfortable again and happy. Change is needed to keep our life exciting and fresh, so we don’t fall into that same routine over and over again. It spices up our life and makes it worth while.
It may take you awhile to embrace change. Change is not an easy thing to comprehend, but once you do embrace it you realize everything will be okay. Everything happens for a reason especially change. It allows us to experience new things and meet new people. Without the changes I’ve gone through I would never have been able to go on the adventures or meet the wonderful people that I have. Embrace the change; it will be worth it in the end.
