Letting go of something or someone can be one of the easiest and hardest things you have to do in life, at the same time.
The best reason to let go is to better yourself and to grant yourself a brighter future. You deserve to be happy and you deserve to feel wanted. Remove the toxic people from your life, you don't need them bringing you down when life has so much to offer.
Making yourself happy might be a selfish thing thinking about it now, but putting yourself first and not trying to please others is going to only help you in the long run. The most important thing is doing what's best for you and not focusing on everyone else's happiness or conforming to what they want you to be. There comes a time when you have to leave things behind, whether it's a bad habit or a bad person. If you find yourself down and not satisfied with your life, then it's time to take out the toxic and allow for happiness.
Change. It is a hard thing to accept but we all go through it. One thing that we often fail to understand is that there are two different types of change: good and bad.
When it comes to good changes, we see it as a way to better ourselves and learn something knew about ourselves we never knew. A good change makes you happy and positively impacts your life.
When it comes to bad change, we struggle to accept it. We go through denial and depression. We eventually accept it but it takes time and it's hard. Bad change usually comes from an upsetting situation or a spontaneous situation. We are forced to go through these changes with not much time to prepare.
It is important for you to realize that you are better than whatever it is that might be bringing you down. That's when it's time to cut the ties and let go. It will be hard in the beginning, but over time it will get better. Once you get past the hard part, I promise you that you will be okay.
Everyone has their breaking point, even the nicest people, and it only takes so much to break it off to the point of no return. People will drag you into the ground and so will their bad habits, that's when you learn to pick yourself up and clean yourself off. Becoming someone who is improved from before and is better than the past that you were clinging on to is life changing. You have to decide what will be better for you in the long run, and if that someone or something is holding you back, then letting go is probably the best thing for you. Don't feel bad about cutting the ties you have with someone if their presence isn't doing anything to help you succeed in your life.
Self-love is the best middle finger of all time.
