Have you ever caught yourself doing things and not understand why you are doing it? Then you watch your mom one day and it clicks, THAT'S why I do the things I do. It's a classic case of monkey see, monkey do, and here are several things I catch myself doing because my mom did them growing up (and she still does them, too!):
1. Going into the store for one item, then coming out with a full cart.
“Well, Mom, I couldn't very well go up to the register with only one item, could I?"
"I figured since I was here, I could get these other items I'll need later in the week."
2. Taste-testing food while it's cooking, and getting full on it.
"The meat in the pasta sauce is so good, I have to keep making sure it tastes just right."
3. Eating your Ramen soupy when you are sick.
My mom makes ramen noodles very soupy whenever any of us kids, or herself, is sick with whatever illness. I catch myself making it soupy all the time.
4. Looking at the price tag on an item to determine it's cuteness.
"This is cute...Never mind."
5. Having random bursts of energy to clean.
Every now and then, one of us will just get the urge to clean, and we'll definitely clean!
6. Having dance parties while cooking.
Every now and then, we have dance parties. I find myself wanting to dance randomly because of our dance parties.
7. Having unconditional love for everyone.
I'm a better person for picking up my mom's little traits. If it wasn't for having her, I don't know what I would do. This one goes out to you, Mom.
