Singer/Songwriter Carrie Underwood auditioned for American Idol in 2005 singing "I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt and instantly became a country sensation. Since day one, Carrie has won America's heart with her number one hits such as, "Jesus Take the Wheel," which sent a message to her listeners that she wanted Jesus to take control of her life. In 2014, Carrie came out with another number one hit "Something In the Water," which contained lyrics like, "Just a little Faith and it will all get better", Carrie believes that baptism is important for Christians and life will get better with Jesus by your side. I believe that baptism is important for Christians because it helps them renew themselves in the eyes of God.

After the release of her song "Something In the Water," Carrie received words from Atheists that did not approve of her song. Carrie made it very clear that she did not care about anyone's opinion of her songs. Carrie showed Christians that they should not change their opinions on anything and stand up for what they believe in. As a Christian myself sometimes it is hard to voice your opinion but in the end it is what matters to you that should be voiced, you can not let other people rule your life because they do not agree with your decisions. Carrie released the statement saying that "Country music is different. You have that Bible-Belt-ness about it. I'm not the first person to sing about God, Jesus, faith or any of that, and I won't be the last. And it won't be the last for me, either. If you don't like it, change the channel."

Both of those songs have two things in common they have both a country tune and a Godly presence. Carrie has let her Christian faith help her grow as both a person and a singer. Many lyrics that are included in her songs include the message that she needs Jesus because she can not do things on her own. Carrie suggests to her listeners that even if they feel like they are alone they will always have someone by their side.

Carrie also released a song titled "Temporary Home" in 2009 which was inspired by "The Purpose Driven Life." The novel was by Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in Lake Forrest, California. Warren stated in the novel that the world is a "temporary home" and that there is something greater we go to when we leave here.

Carrie believes that everyone has to overcome a voice inside of their head that discourages them from doing what they want to do. People can not let things that they have done in the past or present depict whether or not they will receive God's love. The Bible is the key to teaching people that they are good enough for God's love. I personally believe reading the Bible everyday will help people become closer to God and help them shape their lives in new ways.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
