If you're reading this, you probably get car sick easily and all your friends and family know this. I've always gotten motion sickness pretty easily and as I'm getting older, it just seems too slowly get worse. Here are 5 things that are true for all of you nausea prone folks:
1. You dread every road trip
You hate long car rides. You're the nuisance in the car, complaining the whole time and being that one who always asks to stop for bathroom breaks because you need fresh air.
2. You always have plastic bags handy
You never know when it's going to hit, so you have to come prepared
3. You can't read a sentence without your head spinning
You look around and everyone else is watching a movie, on their phone or worse: reading. You can barely handle keeping your eyes open let alone read. You always think you out grow this so you try again often thinking you feel fine...and then you ruin it for yourself.
4. You own a pair of Sea bands.
You recognize these little gadgets and if you don't they're amazing. They're basically sweat bands that you put around each of your wrists in a certain spot with a ball on the inside that puts pressure on your wrist and prevents nausea.
5. Ginger ale is your friend
You come prepared with all the nausea recovery snacks: ritz crackers, white bread and ginger ale. Stock up and bring a whole case.
You'll never grow out of your car/motion sickness. This applies to airplanes and theme park rides too, so consider yourself lucky if you only get sick during car rides. You'll never grow out of it. Every time you think you feel fine and can handle reading...just don't do it. Don't kid yourself. Just embrace it.
