"Captain America: Civil War" was marvelous. I will be keeping this review completely spoiler-free, so don't worry.
First off, "Civil War" is most definitely worth seeing. I know that I will be going to see it at least 3 more times in theater. Now, I'm not saying it is perfect . . . but it is pretty close to being perfect. "Civil War" tied up loose ends and didn't feel like it was just setting up for another movie (like "Age of Ultron"). You can be assured that "Civil War" is 100% better than "Age of Utron" (this is coming from someone who DID NOT like "Ultron" very much). While it is clear that Marvel is building up to the next step of MCU I never felt like it was just an unneeded part of the puzzle. I felt like I was getting all of the information and it did give a good lead up to the other films to come.
Rather than have Marvel just tease the fans with the idea of Black Panther and Spider-Man, I was happily surprised that they were large parts in this film. Speaking of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, I think that this is the best one that we have seen. While Andrew Garfield made an excellent Spider-Man, I think that Tom Holland, the new Spider-Man, has slung his way into the spot of my favorite Spider-Man. As Peter Parker, he is just as witty and slings out one liners here and there like he was born to do it. As Spider-Man, he really nails the right personality. Black Panther is a large character in this film so I will not be saying much about him.
Despite the absolutely fantastic character development "Civil War" lacked in other categories. Baron Zemo never really came into his villain self and most of the plot is driven by the conflict between the Avengers themselves. That's not a bad thing necessarily, however it felt clunky and weird when the fight turned toward Zemo.
Several of the scenes felt mildly out of place with the main plot, and some scenes just not necessary. But I think that this added to the movie. The battles had really great action sequences (some of the best in any Marvel movie.
Aside from my very minor gripes that I have, "Civil War" was without a doubt one of my favorite MCU films. Best Cap move by far.
Overall, I give it a 9.7/10.
