These past few weeks have been anything but easy. At this point you have written more papers than you could have imagined, you have been assigned a research paper along with two exams to study for, along with a group project. Sleep isn't even in your vocabulary and finals week hasn't even officially begun. So as you prepare to endure the most draining week of the semester, just know that there is, in fact, a light at the end of the tunnel: Summer 2016. When you don't think you can take one more final exam or complete your final presentation, just take a minute to think everything that lies ahead of you this summer.
You finally get to have a substantial amount of money in your bank account.
When I came to school this past fall, I was more than excited to not have a job to worry about. I can honestly say that I never thought I would miss working, but I do. I may not miss the experience of working multiple nights a week for long hours at a time, but I sure do miss the weekly income I would receive when I was employed.
More ice cream than you can imagine.
That bank account that you finally can put money back into would have a much higher balance if it weren't for ice cream. For obvious reasons, going out for ice cream never gets old. The three dollar ice cream cone doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you get one multiple times a week (Yes, I am guilty of this and I know I'm not alone on this one) that newly replenished bank account starts to fall again. But the ice cream is so worth it.
Endless beach days.
On your days off from work, nothing beats sitting on the beach all day long. Listening to music, attempting to tan (even though you know you'll get home and look pink instead of tan) and to quote the great Zac Brown Band, "only worrying about the tide reaching your chair."
Reuniting with your friends from home.
Columbus Day weekend just didn't cut it. Even the few weeks that you had for winter break went by too fast. Welcome to four months of spending every day with your best friends.
No papers, exams, projects or quizzes. For. Four. Whole. Months.
This one is pretty great. Four months of no stress from school. So relax, eat some ice cream, go to the beach all the time with your friends. Enjoy these months off, because after this semester, you definitely deserve the break.
