Which Candidate You Should Vote For Based On Their Zodiac Signs: Republican Edition

These are descriptions based off my opinions and sometimes on the candidate’s actions themselves. They are not completely without bias...however, being a Pisces, my sign is not represented by any of the presidential candidates, making it a little fairer. Also for the Republican edition I only chose Republicans that I recognized/liked, so I apologize if I left out someone you were looking for.

Gemini

Marco Rubio/Donald Trump

Geminis are notoriously known for being two-faced, because of the twins that represent this sign. Geminis tend to be chatty and independent. Trump fits this bill perfectly, gaining attention solely from his outrageous and sometimes offensive statements. Geminis are usually in it for themselves—not really caring about the universal human experience, as a good leader of the free world should. They are known for being clever but tend to use that wit and knowledge to come up with devious and misleading plans. Not all Geminis are bad, but do you really want a two-faced, know-it-all, who is only looking out for themselves in office?

Aquarius

Jeb Bush

Aquariuses are some of my favorite people. Funny, artistic and smart—they have it all. Even their “negative” attributes are positive in terms of being a president. They are stubborn; meaning they won’t give in on issues that matter. They are unemotional; meaning they won’t let their emotions get in the way of making difficult decisions that a president has to make. However, because of this aloofness, an Aquarius may have a hard time connecting with voters to get elected.

Scorpio

Scott Walker

Scorpios are difficult to get along with, but when they do decide to like you, they are fiercely loyal and pretty much awesome. If they feel betrayed, they will get revenge, which is fine when you aren’t on the receiving end of that rage. Scorpios have a mild reputation for being power hungry. This doesn’t always manifest in becoming president and then taking over and becoming supreme ruler of the world, but...it could.

Capricorn

Rand Paul

Most Capricorns I know are pretty chill. They make pretty great friends because they are down for anything and tend to be the” mom” of the group. I'm not sure if some of these same qualities would be ideal for president, because they can be kind of a dictator if things start not going their way.

Libra

Ben Carson

Libras thrive in group settings, which might be ideal because from all “The West Wing” and “Scandal” I’ve watched, a president spends a lot of time with others. They always make sure that whoever they are in the room with feels comfortable and at home—super diplomatic and caring. Libras have tons of creative ideas, but have a hard time actually doing the work to implement those ideas. They can be vain and focused on appearance, but they have great taste, so they would always look great at photo-ops.

Virgo

Ted Cruz/Carly Fiorina/Chris Christie/Mike Huckabee

Virgos are honestly the best option for office. Some of these candidates may not be the best option for office, but true Virgos are what you need. For example: Ted Cruz is a Virgo, but was born on a “cusp”— if he had waited one more day to be born, he would have been a Libra. Virgos are Type-As, especially about school and work. If they were the leader of the free world, they would give all they have and excel at that job just like any other. They are analytical and picky, making them perfect decision makers.

Taurus

John Kasich

Honestly, I only know one Taurus really well and that’s my mom, so I obviously think a Taurus would be great at running a country since my mom was great at running my life for 18 years. They are known for being stubborn— they are represented by the bull— but are also incredibly generous. So, pretty much the best combination of not backing down, but also being super sweet and empathetic. They can however be extremely lazy and self-indulging depending on the day, so its 50/50 shot if they feel up to running the country that day.

Bottom Line:

Your best options this year for a Republican candidate is a Virgo, Aquarius and maybe Taurus. For sure, not a Gemini. The rest of the signs are iffy—most of them probably wouldn't fail, but wouldn't be as kick-a** as a Virgo.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
