Republican candidate Rick Perry has recently dropped out of the presidential race.
The candidate didn’t have enough money, resources, and support, even though he had been planning his campaign for the past two years after his disastrous 2012 campaign. He couldn't even pay his campaign workers. Perry announced his suspension in a speech, and continued to vouch his support for the race to presidency.
Running for presidency is about more than just your ideas and beliefs. It’s about the money you have and the support you have.
Without money, you cannot succeed. This in itself proves that we have a sort of upper-class and that the common American cannot excel in elections and help the middle-class average American. Although we vote for the most educated and experienced, sometimes it’s good to have one of us in office, because they can relate to us. Though Perry wasn’t like us and wealthier than most of us, even he couldn’t do it. So how could a middle-class average American participate in the government, aside from electing rich people to run it?
Without support, you're basically doomed. Perry lacked support due to overshadowing opponents such as Donald Trump, Ben Carson, and Jeb Bush. It's hard to compete with men who have well known names, families, businesses, and have separated Siamese twins before. At least we sort of get a say on how our country runs, because without our support, a candidate will not succeed, and Rick Perry is just a small example.
Good luck to all the candidates running and planning to run in the 2016 election.
