One in five college women this year will be sexually assaulted. It’s a statistic that really smacks you right in the gut.

Lady Gaga recently released this video titled “Til it Happens to You” to empower young women to come forward in terms of sexual assault charges. It’s upsetting, powerful, impactful and, at times, graphic. But it’s a topic that is too often overlooked and an important one at that. Most college-aged women that are sexually assaulted are too afraid to come forward in fear that it will cause further embarrassment or that they might not be believed by authority or staff. This video brings back to the discussion table the topic of campus sexual assault and makes us really step back and take a second look.
