“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” Matthew 7:24-27
A foundation in the Lord makes us so much stronger. When we build our lives on "the rock," we are building our lives on faith; we are building our lives on the word of God. Many things we build require a foundation. What happens when the foundation is weak? When you build your foundation on a soft, unstable ground even the smallest of forces can destroy it. Just like our lives. When we decided we are strong enough with out Him, even the smallest of things and really knock us down.
What does strength mean to you? To me strength is being strong in who I am, and being strong in Him. With God on our side and this faith as our foundation, who could stand against us? It is important for us to build ourselves on this strong foundation. If we do not, we will end up like the man who built his house on sand. We will be too busy rebuilding all the time, that we will have no time to live.
We all face hardships, heart breaks, and tough times. When we have God on our side and in our heart, these times seem so much easier. The difference between having Him and not, is having something constant. When you are struggling, you can sometimes feel alone. You think have no one that see the situation the way you do, you have no one that understands, or you have no one by your side. Its so amazing, you THINK you have no one, but in reality you have THE ONE. It's so great to look back on a time in your life when you felt weak, because you look back and you had Him who is so strong right by your side.
We build your faith on Him and He builds you up. When you are getting weak, He repairs you. Even when the intense of storms come, He keeps you standing tall. He builds you up to be stronger and more powerful every day. We are so blessed that we have this, we are so blessed that we have Him.
Prayer:
Hey God, it's me again. I pray that you keep me strong. I am so thankful that you are by my side through everything. I pray that as you build me up and make me stronger, our relationship continues to grow. You are my rock, and I build myself upon you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
